Drilling Activity for Tuesday, August 11, 2009
Well: APS Cholla Pilot CO2 Well
Rig: WDC Rig 161
Activity: Run and cement 9-5/8"casing
WDC personnel cleaned the rig tanks and rigged down the drilling rig. The cement level in the 9-5/8" annulus gradually fell to approximately 100 feet below ground level. The 9-5/8" casing was left in tension for 13 hours after cementing to allow the cement in the wellbore to harden. The 14" and 9-5/8" casings were cut just above ground level. The rig mast was lowered and the rig unit was pulled away from the wellbore. Approximately 80% of WDC’s rig equipment has been demobilized from the drill site. Operations were suspended for the day at 6:30 p.m.
Observations
  • Daily activities summarized to 6:00 p.m. August 11.
  • Drilling measurements are referenced from kelly bushing (KB) of Bearcat drilling rig (12 ft above grade level).
  • Surface Casing: 9-5/8" OD, 36 lb/ft Grade J-55 STC; set at 958 ft below the KB.

Drilling Activity for Wednesday, August 12, 2009
Well: APS Cholla Pilot CO2 Well
Rig: WDC Rig 161
Activity: Demobilization of rig; Install cellar and wellhead
WDC personnel cleaned out solids from its rig tank and loaded out the remainder of the equipment on location. The annular space between the 14" and 9-5/8" casing was grouted to surface. A 6-foot diameter x 5-foot deep cellar was installed around the wellhead and a 13-3/8" x 9-5/8" 3000 psi slip-on wellhead was installed and pressure-tested to 2700 psig for one hour. Operations were suspended for the day at 7:30 p.m.
Observations
  • Daily activities summarized to 7:30 p.m. on August 12.
  • Drilling measurements are referenced from kelly bushing (KB) of Bearcat drilling rig (12 ft above grade level).
  • Surface Casing: 9-5/8" OD, 36 lb/ft Grade J-55 STC; set at 958 ft below the KB.
