Drilling Activity for Wednesday, August 19, 2009
Well: APS Cholla Pilot CO2 Well
Rig: Bearcat Rig 2
Activity: Drilling in the Supai Formation
Drilling continued from 1,659 ft to 1,711 ft. A short trip was made to condition the wellbore and the drilling fluid. Drilling continued from 1,711 ft to 1,879 ft. An inclination survey was obtained at 1,835 ft (1 deg) and drilling resumed. Drilling continued from 1,835 ft to 2,140 ft.
Observations
  • Daily activities summarized to 6:00 a.m. August 20.
  • Drilling Fluid Properties: Mud weight = 10.1 lb/gal; Plastic viscosity = 6 cp; Yield point = 16 lb/100 ft2; Filter loss = 3.0 cc/30 min.
  • Chlorides in drilling mud increased from 125,000 to 160,000 parts per million (ppm) due to drilling of anhydrites, salts.
  • Added approximately 700 barrels of water to hole yesterday to account for fluid losses while drilling.
