Drilling Activity for July 31, 2009
Well: APS Cholla Pilot Test Well
Rig: WDC Drilling
Activity: Mobilization & Rig Up
Rig-up operations were finalized and a safety audit was conducted by Sandia Technologies, Errol L. Montgomery & Associates, and WDC personnel on July 31, 2009. Drilling operations began at 2:00 p.m.  Drilling progressed from 47 ft to 71 ft.
Observations  
  • Daily activities summarized are from midnight to midnight.
  • 6:00 am August 1, 2009 update: Drilling at 89 ft.
  • Drilling measurements are referenced from the kelly bushing (KB) of Bearcat drilling rig, which will be on site for the deeper portion of the well (12 ft above grade level)
  • Conductor pipe: 14" OD, set at 47 ft below the KB
  • Drilling progressing slowly due to lack of weight on bit.  Rate of penetration will increase as additional drill collars are added to the bottom hole assembly.
